Following the « Interluudes EP » (SF001), Mugwump now join DC Salas (Relish/Clouded Vision/Biologic) to present two pieces of unconventional machine funk that fully comply with Subfield’s mission statement : to play with the codes from music subgenres.
« Giallo » is a sharp, italo/electrofunk rollercoaster ride that’s taking no prisoners and gets you straight up in the mood of the Italian movie subgenre it refers to.. frightening AND sexy.
On the flip, « Hinterlands » is a wild trip, melting Disco, EBM and technofunk. A banger for discerning floors. Kinfolk’s Soft Rocks adds some New-Beat chug to « Giallo » to complete the package.

Mugwump’s prior « Caltrops » track,with DC Salas was released in March 2014 on Jennifer Cardini’s thriving Correspondant imprint and selected to soundtrack France’s prime-time news-show « Le Petit Journal » on Canal +.
